imagine sherlock just hanging out on his own by the lake with his books. he gets bored and experiments with clever little charms. john thinks they’re great.

he can always see through everyone’s charms and he always gets perfect grades without trying and he never apologizes for it and so everyone thinks he is a drag

john is the gryffindor keeper and everyone loves him but not because he tries to be cool but just because he is genuinely really nice - everyone side-eyes john for hanging out with sherlock but john just ignores them and smiles at them blandly

sherlock is always going out into the woods to learn about the creatures and the plants and everything and john follows him because he always gets into trouble and it is exciting

then when they are sixteen or seventeen sherlock grows six inches and he loves being taller than john and is a total asshole about it but john takes it all in stride

and sherlock won’t come to any of john’s quidditch matches and he pretends it is because he thinks quidditch is stupid but really it is because john is crazy and reckless and sherlock gets too scared for him
